Oak & Thorns

I wanted to talk just a little bit about the Wild Hunt series. THE SILVER STAG seems to be going over quite well, and I can’t tell you how happy this makes me. Well, perhaps I can try. I am thrilled that people are loving the book because this is a series that speaks to my heart. Whisper Hollow was another series like this, one that took hold of me and wouldn’t let go and I hope for the day I can get the rights back to the first two books so I can write new work in it.

But…but…The Wild Hunt speaks to something deeper inside of me than even Whisper Hollow. The series speaks to my nature as a priestess in the Craft, as a witch who follows the Gods of the Hunt, Forest, and Fae. This series speaks to part of my heritage — I’m mostly Irish and Cherokee, and this dives deep—and will go deeper still—into Celtic mythology bound together with the land of my Native ancestors.  The Wild Hunt embraces my love for the ancient woodlands and the ocean. It my passion for Mother Moon, for the wild eyed dance of the Fae, for the passion of the Lord for his Lady. And as I write deeper into the series, I’m beginning to see more of this emerge, along with new creatures from the depths of my imagination.

I already love the characters, and I feel myself being drawn into their world with each page I write. So, if you haven’t started the series now, I encourage you to give it a try. I’m embracing this new world and where it’s taking me — and I truly hope you jump aboard for the ride. I hope to have OAK & THORNS for sale by the end of June/beginning of July, and I’ll be writing book three–IRON BONES–next.

Meanwhile, a few songs and videos to give you a taste for the magic in this series, and the magick that I run with:

HYMN TO HERNE by SJ Tucker

HYMN TO PAN by Faun

The King Stag’s Rut

JACK IN THE GREEN by Jethro Tull
