Well, I had a bit of a scare this morning. As you know Fred, my espresso machine, is near and dear to my heart in a way very few other objects are. And the grinder that goes along with Fred is just as important to me. Fred takes a very special grind to make my espresso, and the grinder is set to that and only that.

So I go in the kitchen this morning, looking to make my typical quad shot latte, and I realize I have to grind more beans. I pull out the coffee and pour it into the grinder, and then I set my container underneath the spout, and I press the switch and nothing happens. Not even an rrrrr.

Talk about panic!

I make sure the grinder is plugged in and I try again. Nothing. Nada. So now I’m starting to get a little worried and Sam is noticing that slightly frantic tone in my voice that happens when I realize I’m needing caffeine and there’s none to be found. Of course, the man teases me about it until I glare him into silence. Lucky for him, he knows when to stop.

I try again. Nothing. I haul the grinder out of it’s corner in order to look at it — the damn thing is heavy — and then I see a switch on the bottom side. That’s right, there is another switch on this grinder besides the one in front that starts it up! Hoping, hoping against hope, I flip the white switch and then try again. My grinder begins its run, I cheer, and Sam breathes a sigh of relief that we don’t have to go to Starbucks at seven in the morning so I can get a quad shot espresso. So that just goes to show you: double check all the switches on your appliances when something refuses to run.

AUTUMN THORNS continues to run crazy like a juggernaut through my head. Kerris is about to meet Penelope—guardian of the Veil, and Veronica—queen of the Unliving. Both scare the hell out of me, though Veronica more-so, and I have a feeling Kerris isn’t going to be overly thrilled with the meeting, either.

I’m also working on a couple other side projects and waiting on some news from my agent. You’ll know more about both when I know more about them.

This past weekend I watched Maleficent and Guardians of the Galaxy. Unfortunately I watched Guardians right after I watched Maleficent and my mind just couldn’t keep on the second movie. I really loved Maleficent, though I would have done a few things differently of course, but Guardians of the Galaxy was too hard for me to get into, primarily because my mind was still lurking back in a dark and beautiful fairyland. So I intend to watch Guardians of the Galaxy again in a few days when I am in a more lighthearted mood. Because I know that I can enjoy it, I just have to be in the right frame of mind.

Tonight’s dinner is going to be spaghetti squash with a faux Alfredo sauce — in other words I’m making a sauce of coconut milk and smoked salmon to go over the spaghetti squash and it should be really good. Obviously I cannot have any dairy, so I will be adding a little bit of fake cream cheese as well. I guess that’s it for now, I hope you had a great day and I will talk to you guys later.

Oh goodness do I know what that’s like! Not with coffee, exactly, but with my beloved computer or cell phone…I press a button and it doesn’t do what its supposed to do its instant panic LOL. Glad it all worked out and I can’t wait to read the new series. Now back to Panther Prowling…I’m almost finished. 😀

Looking forward to hearing about the future projects and glad you didn’t have to go to Starbucks.

I love Starbucks, but damn, I do NOT want my espresso machine or grinder to go on the blink! LOL

I don’t think that scare can be turned into a horror movie.
‘Day of the Unworking Coffee Grinder’
‘On this day, the grinder wouldn’t churn out ground coffee for espresso’.
    AAAAHHHHHHHHHHHHH!!!

That dinner sounds good. I LOVE baking spaghetti squash and right now my favorite topper is a roux and scallops. Mmmm, seafood! <3

EEEE!!! The hints you drop about Autumn Thorns is so tantalizing, I cannot wait to get my hands on it when it comes out. This is my most anticipated new series. Seriously CANNOT wait 🙂
