So we expanded our family. It took us a little bit after Meerclar’s death, but now we’re ready, so we found this little guy at the shelter. He’s five weeks old and a total love bug.

I’d like to put a plea here: PLEASE spay and neuter your pets…there were so many surrendered pets there, some because their owners had no choice, and that’s tragic.

But others…surrendered because they were no longer ‘convenient’ or they were like cast-off clothes. 🙁 And they just got done with a run on kittens because…well…people won’t get their pets fixed. There are nearly 3 MILLION pets euthanized every year because there aren’t enough homes and there aren’t enough shelters to care for them. Please, donate to your local no-kill shelters, and have your pets fixed. It’s enough to experience the ‘miracle of life’ by watching them grow…kids don’t need to see a litter born to understand life, and cats and dogs tend to have fewer health problems when they are fixed.

So, here…we present APPLE…the newest member of the Galenorn family. We just fixed up a special nursery for him until Calypso, Brighid, and Morgan decide it’s cool to have a little bro’.

What a gorgeous baby! He reminds me of a little girl I met briefly some decades ago. Her mother was so thrilled with what her young daughter had named her kitten that she was asking everyone she met to ask her daughter. ‘Do you have a new kitten?’ ‘Yes, he is all black.’ ‘What did you name him?’ ‘Rainbow.” ‘Why?’ ‘Because he’s black & there’s no black in the rainbow & now there is.’

He is beautiful! I currently have a male cat who is half Siamese & half Maine Coon Cat. He has got me wrapped around his paw! I think male cats are a lovely title more brash sometimes, but they are very funny, too. Hope your other crybabies adapt to him.

I LOVE cats! So happy to see your newest furbaby! I’ve had three cats over the years (one at a time). Toby we got from someone my Mom worked with who was no longer able to take care of him. Tiger came from a litter from another co-worker of my Mom’s (sadly he contracted feline leukemia, and there was nothing we could do). Rifkin came from my cousins’ country cat’s litter. After she passed (at nineteen years), we haven’t been able emotionally or financially to adopt another cat. Maybe one day…. As far as “fixing” goes, it’s better not only for not making unwanted babies, but for the health of the animal. Doesn’t matter if it’s a dog, cat, horse, etc. I been watching “The Incredible Doctor Pol” on Nat Geo Wild, and he sees so many tumors that are fed by hormones. Not to mention horses (and other animals) are easier to handle with out the hormones, especially the males. He likes to say “Take out the balls and the brains come back!”

how aDOrable! I could not agree with you more re spaying and neutering. It’s so awful to kill creatures just b/c pple didn’t prevent them.
I love the idea of the iKitten. And Charlie’s “adorable cubed” comment. so true!
    Enjoy the new lovey dovey!

What a cutie!!! I also give kudos to you for the message about getting pets fixed…it breaks my heart to know just how many unwanted animals there are out there. People sadly fall in love with the idea of having a pet without realizing that its just like having a child. I know I can’t save them all myself but this weekend I will hopefully be rescueing two kitties of my own from a life in a cage at the local shelter…I can’t wait. I hope Apple brings you lots of joy and love Yasmine, he looks like a sweetheart. 🙂

What a cutie!!! I love black cats, dogs, and horses. Hope to get a cat after moving later this year.
I am sure Apple will soon integrate with your other gurlz and all will be okay. When I saw Apple, had a quick thought you had a new computer!

What a sweetie! And agree on fixing pets, along with encouraging adoption of older cats. The shelter where I got mine always has a lot but as usual the kittens are first to go. (and nothing against you or Apple, Yaz.)

Oh, if we could adopt an older baby and know that our girls would cope with it, we would! There’s a 22 year old there that broke my heart…I’d take her in a heartbeat if I thought that she and the girls wouldn’t be stressed but… 🙁

He is adorable cubed! I’m sure they’ll both adjust. I hear you on the spaying/neutering. Both my boys came from a local emergency rescue that tracks the “next” lists at the area’s kill shelters and posts their adorable little faces. There would be less sunshine in the world if Clayton and Carlisle weren’t here.
