We went to Saltwater State Park–about a fifteen-twenty minute drive away on a good traffic today. Needed to be near the scent of the salt water and brine…that smell to me is home, it’s cleansing, it’s reacharging and if I could wake up to it and go to sleep to it, I’d be happy. The sound of the gulls is music to my heart.

Being a “city girl” I don’t get to go to the ocean. Seagulls however are in parking lots all over the place. My Dad used to call them “food gulls”, because they are always looking for food in the parking lots. Usually they walk out of your way when you have to drive through them and give you a dirty look. I always do my best not to hurt them.

It looks lovely. And if it is so close by, why not visit it more often if it recharges you?

Time and traffic, unfortunately. We don’t have much spare time, and a good share of the year it’s too cold and/or wet to go out. But it’s lovely.
