Question: What do you like best about the Indigo Court Series?

As we hurried along, racing over the snows, I flashed back to before my initiation, before my body had changed as the heartstone emerged from me. I had been weaker then, and much more vulnerable, but one thing this stint had taught me: nobody was immortal, without chance of dying. And as the saying went: no one here gets out alive. While I felt myself still transforming, changes came slowly, and probably with good reason. Become a different person in the blink of an eye and it’s easy to lose the person you were. Slowly shift, and you keep the best of both worlds. At least, that was how I hoped it would play out in the end.

We jogged through the forests. The trees here towered into the sky, dark conifers who could survive in the realm of Winter. They were brooding, and alive, and while I had yet to hear them speak, at times I felt them watching me—as if they were contemplating my place in their world. As we passed a clearing, a group of Ice Elementals wandered by, slowing as I drew near. They were bipedal, shaped like very tall humans formed of the bluish-clear ice. No features marred their faces. Their arms and legs were angular, like icicles. As soon as I stepped forward, the pack stopped. There were five of them, and they turned toward me, pausing.

They are unbound, Cicely. You should tie them to you. Ulean’s gentle voice tickled at my ear.

They are unaligned? Very well.

I closed my eyes, raising my hand as I let myself slip into the slipstream. As the astral wind buffeted me, I reached out to them. I am your queen. Guard this place and bind yourselves to my service. Should any one counter to my will enter this area, destroy them.

A moment later and I felt the connection take and hold. It was as if I had reached off of a web—held out my hand and offered them the chance to join my world. A moment passed, then another, and finally, one by one they moved onto my path, into my journey, binding themselves to my power. I opened my eyes. The Elementals gazed at me, unspeaking, but then nodded and spread out, moving at a steady pace, sparkling under the sky that forever shadowed the realm of Snow and Ice.

Hello, I’m Lori, in United States and over 18. I thought I’d entered this but I can’t find my entry-lupus brain strikes again!

As to Indigo Court, it’s the same answer as with all of your books that I have read. Your ability to create a world, and people, that are so incredibly alive and real that I get lost in them, and they become my reality until I am yanked out by my unfortunate life. Your true gift? While lost in your worlds I tend to forget about my constant pain-now THAT is a gift.

I have only read the first one and loved it, especially the Owl, in fact rereading the other day, Have bought the new e book but haven’t read it. The rest of the series is on my wish list to be bought in the near future (so many books, not enough money or time, work & chores get in the way. I have 3 other series on the go at the moment as well).

I am over 18 and live in Wa State 🙂 I love the bond between Cicely and Grieve, I think it’s what everyone in life strives for, what we long for. I would love to find that in life, that one person who completes me like Grieve does for Cicely and her for him.

My name is Michelle. I am over 18 and from the U.S.. In first got hooked on your Other world series and while I was waiting for the next book to come out happened to check out the Indigo court series. I liked Cecily right away. My favorite part of the series is the love between her and Grieve. But I also liked the close friendship she had with her cousin Rhiannon. I liked how they are going to continue to be as close as they can even though they are opposites.

I’m Christi, over 18, in the USA. Like others have said, the big attraction with Indigo Court is that you become part of the story & feel & see what the characters do.

    – I love that I’m in the middle of the first book and have 4 more to go! 🙂
    – I love the intensity, feeling like I’m there, the notion that she has a sort of guardian element.
    – I love best that everything is alive – the elements, the trees, everything.

The thing I love most is the themes of love and family written throughout the series. Cicely and Grieve remind me of what true love can do even in the darkest of times. The relationship between Rhiannon and Cicely also reminds me of how your best friend can be your closest family member like my mom is to me. I am 27 living in the U.S.

The feeling that comes through in your work that gives the woods the feeling of an ancient, primal forest. You just know that you might encounter one of the fae when walking there.

I enjoy a good book, that when you read it you feel your there, living the life of the characters. This series, and really all the series, are so vividly described, I could fell the cold, the warmth, the fear, sorrow, all of it. And felt happiness, and bereft when Cicely finally defeats Myst, because I knew the story was ending. Such wonderful writing. And always waiting for the next.

I like that no matter what they go through the love that is family always holds strong. I really liked the part of the magic born because though like all the others that make up the storyline they too can give as good as they get and work with all the others without a doubt that they have something to contribute and help with the fight.
