First–the Peninsula Daily News interviewed me about my new Whisper Hollow Series. I am very happy with it and them.

So, Sam and I went out for a coffee date today. We tried a local spot, decided to give someone besides Starbucks a try. Every now and then we do this, and we’ve always been disappointed (we love SB’s coffee, we like the culture/atmosphere). Well, today was no exception.

The chairs were really uncomfortable, bad acoustics for talking, and the coffee…um…sucked. Now, we have definite tastes in coffee, and I couldn’t get more than a couple sips of my latte down. I give them big props for having a gluten free selection of cookies (pre-packaged to avoid cross contamination), and for having both coconut milk and soy milk choices…but if the coffee tastes bad, there’s not much to save it. So we discreetly discarded our coffee, and then went to Starbucks, bought more coffee we actually LIKE, and then went to Marymoor Park and sat there and talked while the cool autumn air cleared our heads. I took some pictures there.

And lastly, updates on our kitties. Or, updated pictures. đŸ˜‰

I was so excited to see the article in the newspaper I had to share it. Next time you come this way and you want good coffee go to Higher Grounds West. If it’s not perfect tell them what is wrong and they will make you another one. That’s my favorite place. It’s at the corner of 8th and Cst. Yep, there are some really beautiful places here on the Peninsula. I have a neighbor that has three cats and they get up to some funny stuff. One has to redecorate and wash my hair every time I sit on the couch. To funny.

You know, some of my hipster friends make fun of me for going to Starbucks all the time. Now, I do like a cool, non-corporate coffee shop but like you said, but it’s hard to find in the suburbs and not always convenient. Starbucks coffee tastes darn good! It’s perfect every time and not pretentious. Baby sleeping in car?? Fussy children? Starbucks drive-thru baby! My husband and I are serious coffee drinkers, we always start with a nice dark cup at home. Every couple of days, I just need someone else to make me a triple latte or soy cafe au lait. Enjoy what you like, Yasmine!

I’m a tea or hot chocolate drinker myself. I just can’t stand the smell or taste of coffee, but I know from some family members that once you find a good java you tend to stick with it. The park pics are lovely, but I love the kitty pics! They are so cute!

Love the fur babies and park pictures.

Sometimes, it is just better to stay with what you know and like. I love really strong French coffee and make it at home, it is very difficult to get strong coffee at most shops.

Your photos are lovely. Looks like, after you found good coffee, you had a nice relaxing time. Your cats are so cute and I love seeing their pictures! Thank you for sharing!

Beautiful pictures of the park but I really love the kitty pics best. I like the smell of coffee but I just can’t get past the taste, it’s always bitter no matter what or how I mix into it. Oh well just give me hot chocolate.

Hi, Yasmine! I’m not a big coffee drinker – for me, it’s tea. I recently went to a dinner for someone we know. They served me hot tea & it was delicious! It had several spices in it. I think.clove was in there, I’m not sure what others. I think I’ll have to go to the Mid-Eastern market to find some. I will drink coffee if it’s flavored. I know coffee people often scoff at that, but I can’t seem to help it. Lol! The park looks beautiful. The cats are gorgeous!
