I’m so looking forward to autumn. It’s been a long, rough summer here. So, this time of year, at least here–you can feel the tang of autumn in the air when you wake up and the leaves are starting to shift color–just a hint here or there. So what are the first signs of autumn where you live, and when do you notice them?

It w as 40° last night in Michigan & there are leaves turning color here and there. We are starting to get the first of our Michigan apple crop in. Soon it will be getting colder. I love autumn!

I live in south Texas and we frequently don’t get much of an autumn. One day I’ll wake up and it will be chilly outside, but by noon it will be 100 degrees again. Eventually the leaves will fall, but without the display of colors. We will get some cold days come winter to go along with the hot ones. Even in January though there are days when it would be perfectly acceptable to be out in shorts and tank tops.

I live in Chesterfield County, VA. We’re getting rain right now. Earlier, it was very hot & humid. a few trees have a colored leaf here and there. I’m so ready for Fall! It may not be until late October, early November before we get cooler weather though.

Here in Maine, it’s started to get down into the 50s at night. That’s when I know fall is on its way. I also saw some Canadian Geese already, not sure if they are usually in this area or headed south already. Farmers almanac says lots of snow for us this year.

We start seeing a tinge of color in the trees and the Virginia Creeper starts turning red. As to a nip in the air, not so much but it will come. I love the fall and all the colors.
