Hey, good morning. I thought I would take a few moments to blog, and update you on a couple things, and just chat a little bit. First, The Phantom Queen will be out a couple weeks later than I had planned. I’m hoping I’ll be able to put the date back closer to the original, like I did with The Eternal Return, but if I can’t, know that it will be out on February 10th at the latest. I just needed a little extra time to make sure it was what I wanted it to be.The Phantom Queen

I am so loving writing in the Whisper Hollow world again. It’s like reconnecting with old friends, and this time, we get to go where we want to instead of staying within the confines that I used to be locked into. In a funny way, going indie for me has been like turning 18 again. I have much more freedom, but I also have the responsibility of making wise decisions on my own instead of having someone make decisions for me. And the good thing about that is that sometimes the decisions others made for me weren’t in my best interest, and now the decisions I make are in my best interest. Other than that, things are on schedule. I don’t expect Demon’s Delight or Sun Broken to be late.

Today I go visit a new dentist. My old dentist retired which threw me into a tizzy. I not only have dental phobia to deal with, but the MCAS and Histamine Intolerance cause problems of their own when dealing with anything that gets near my mouth. So I have to find a new dentist before I have any dental emergency crop up. I can’t just walk in off the street to somebody and trust that they will be patient enough to listen to the long line of do’s and don’ts that pertain to my care.

low carb dietIn a couple of weeks I’ll also be consulting with a nutritionist who specializes in MCAS patients, to see if we can find a safe way for me to be as low-carb as I need to be. It’s extremely complicated, given a good share of the foods that kept me low-carb for so long are now off-limits. Now and then I still eat a few of them to try and lower my carbs, but they lead to reactions, so that’s not ideal. And I really can’t eat a normal carb diet without throwing my blood sugar into chaos. Also, starches and sugars inflame my joints and make them hurt. So it’s not easy anyway I look at it. Especially when nuts and dairy are off the table.

In less than two weeks I turn 59 years old. I’ve been doing a lot of thinking lately. When you get to be this age, you start thinking about how to best spend whatever time you have left. No, there’s nothing innately wrong so don’t worry about that. It’s just that I’m no longer looking at the stretch of time that I had left when I was 19 or 29 or 39. I hope to live a good long life, and chances are I will, but at this point I want to use that time wisely, and make sure that I’m not wasting it on things that mean nothing to me. So the past month has been a soul-searching one, with long thoughts in the middle of the night. I intend to spend this year getting in as good shape as I can because when I turn 60 in 2021, I want to hit the ground running.Yoga For Every Body

My workout partner and I began a new DVD last night and it’s a lot more energetic even though it’s low impact then we been doing. We truly felt wrung out when we finished.

I guess that’s enough chatting. I need to get to work, but I just wanted to say hi and to remind you that next week is the rerelease of Autumn Thorns, and the week after that Shadow Silence returns. I did a major edit and clean through so they will flow into The Phantom Queen much more smoothly.

So, what’s on your agenda the rest of this week?

I am so excited to reread Autumn Thorns Monday! Whisper Hollow is my favorite and I have missed it so much.

Also working on my diet over. My a1c was way higher than I expected in November so I have been low carb since then. Lost 13 lbs so far.

Other than that just busy with a 7 year old who is about to start selling Girl Scout cookies and an 18 month old who is into everything and fearless and hell.

Got a new puppy for Christmas and just trying to keep up with him and train him before he trains us. He’s an Aussiedoodle. They called him a doggy Einstein, and we are starting to see why. He tilts his head and considers everything before he makes a decision that always comes out in his favor, lol. We are both in our 70’s, so we thought long and hard before going down this road. Hopefully we last as long as our parents did, so we’ll all be aging at about the same rate.
Good luck with everything, and I’m so glad you went Indie. I loved the Whisper Hollow series, and I’m so glad it’s back!
    Happy new year!!
