So we’re into March. Here, the leaves are starting to peek out on the trees, daffodils and tulips are showing their faces, and we have a lot of wind and rain. So what’s spring like where you live? Tell me what’s blooming outside your door? (Or, if you’re down under, what are the signs of the first hings of autumn?).
Brain Candy Friday
It’s one of my favorites seasons, since we really only have two seasons of hot and hotter. It can be rainy or sunny. Its beautiful.
It’s been absolutely gorgeous here in the valley of Arizona. Everything is in bloom and the mountains are so green! Purple, yellow, white, orange and pink… All the colours are blooming along roadsides and throughout the desert. It’s been raining for a solid week. A perfect picture to welcome spring!
Today we had a high of about 80. The hyacinths are trying to bloom outside our front door. We’ve only had 2 or 3 blooms per stem though. The trees are getting a head start though, as my allergies can attest. They’ve been budding for about 2 weeks, maybe? I’m in North Chesterfield, VA, in the outskirts of Richmond.
We saw a robin this week, and this morning I saw mountain bluebirds flying into their bird house. I have not noticed anything actually blossoming just yet. However, I have noticed tiny buds on our maple and oak trees.
