Good morning, peeps! How are you doing? Happy Monday!

I’m busy this week, though happily busy. I’m writing BLOOD ROSES, and just taking a quick break from it. I’m feeling pretty good this morning–I hope you are too. Even though it’s supposed to be hot this week, the knowledge that we’re into September and heading toward the autumn rains makes me happy. I just hope we have a normal rainy season (or above).

I DO wish the spiders weren’t so happy this season. I’m arachnophobic, as many of you know, and we get these giant European housepiders (click on the link at your own risk–trigger warning for spiders), and Saturday, one of them FELL ON MY DESK IN FRONT OF ME. It was such a shock, and I freaked out, and the adrenaline rush threw me into a reaction. We couldn’t find it (my desk is black) though Sam saw the huge sucker running out of my office later.

But a friend came over yesterday (Sunday) to help me go through my office and make sure it wasn’t still there, or any friends it might have had (and yes, we were masked at all times and stayed at a distance). I was so grateful I sent him a Starbucks gift card. He went under my desk, looked behind my desk, looked behind the bookcases and under everything to make certain my office was Spiderzilla-free.

But dang…it was a rough weekend. I wish I wasn’t so afraid but there is evidence that spider phobias may be ingrained in our evolutionary development. So I don’t feel so much of a wuss, but damn, it’s hard living with a fear like this.

So, do you have phobias? What are you afraid of, that sort of goes beyond what seems rational? (And no phobia-bashing…phobias aren’t always rational but they’re very real).

I usually leave the girls alone to do their thing.
I’m not afraid of spiders or snakes but I do have a healthy respect for the poisonous ones.
Of course my three cats make sure none of the ladies are anywhere near ground level! LOL!
    Take care and stay safe.

      Good Morning!
I have a very crazy fear at least that’s what all my family and friends say. I am terrified of frogs. They are just so UGH and I just have know idea why I am so scared of them.

      We all have our issues.

I have a phobia of stairs…very strange, but there it is. I don’t like getting on step stools, ladders, or anything even remotely like stairs.

That spider is ugly enough to make a locomotive take a dirt road!
