Autumn Candy

Today on Brain Candy Friday, I want to talk about seasonal foods. Mabon’s coming up, the Second Harvest, and it’s the harvest of fruits. Harvest-tide, when we harvest apples and peaches and pears and all those wonderful fruits. We’ve gathered the blackberries, we’ve picked all the blueberries, the tomatoes are in, the carrots and potatoes and beets have been harvested. Now, it’s time to celebrate the bounty of the season. So we begin making stews and soups, pies and cobblers.

I love peach pie, apple pie, and berry pie. I love beef pot roast and roast chicken. So tell me, what are some of your favorite harvest foods?

Tough call for fave harvest foods. I’d have to go with Mississippi pot roast with carrots, celery, small potatoes, and mushrooms , and my homemade cheddar potato chowder. Nice and hearty!
I also love zucchini anything, and our homemade applesauce with cranberries.
My great grandma’s walnut bread is a fall fave, too! Now, I’m hungry. Glad I have zucchini bread baking right now! Bright Blessings!
