Autumn Candy

Hey hey hey! It’s the Happy Autumn Yummy Month. Candy corn! Marshmallow Pumpkins! Caramel apples! So Pumpkin bread. Apple pie! many sweets. So, instead of asking you what your fave autumn candy is, what are your favorite autumn sweets, be they candy, baked goods, ice creams, or coffees? (I love candy corn, pumpkin pie, and caramel-vanilla lattes–I love pumpkin spice but some of the spices are problematic for me…most of them are).

Apple spice bread , crisp apple scented candles, and love making pumpkin seeds most of all!
I also make a mean Samhain grog with apple cider, cinnamon, cloves, nutmeg, and spiced rum . Wonderful to sip on cold nights by the bonfire!

It’s definitely pumpkin spice season! If you can’t eat it, try some handmade bath products with pumpkin seed oil, pumpkin puree and such. If they’re not a problem topically. Handmade soaps are made with wonderful ingredients. That way you still get to experience the awesome fragrances of the season.

My favorite Autumn sweet has got to be the Apple Spice Cake. It’s made by a local company (Ukrop’s) and sold at Kroger grocery stores. It was the Cake of the Month last month! They use real apple bits (not just flavoring) & put the “spice” in the frosting. (I believe they list the spice as cinnamon.) It is soooo good! We discovered it several years ago (back when Ukrop’s was a grocery store). Now my Bestie & I keep a look out for it so we can let each other know it’s out. This year, she spotted it first, & sent me a pic in my FB messages. Of course, we both bought one (or 2)!
