Well, it’s been a week. We’re renovating my office–at least the furniture–and I made a mistake in measuring…or several…and my office is in chaos and I’m trying to keep my wits about me. I don’t do well in clutter or chaos and, oh man, is my office in chaos. So yes, my bad–apparently I wasn’t focused and now I’m sitting in a half-assembled office with a couple pieces of furniture waiting to be put together that won’t fit anyway. *eye roll*

First world problems, yes, but problems nonetheless!

I am having great fun writing Tattered Thorns–I love the heroine, she’s easy to write,Writer At Work and if I had to place her like any of my other heroines, she’s reminds me of Camille from Otherworld, of Lily from Lily Bound, and throw in a touch of Bo from Lost Girl. I’m liking her a lot–she’s unapologetic, carrying a dark past that has formed her present. I can see a great many adventures for her.

In other news, I’m watching Bridgerton and merely three episodes in, am totally entranced. Are you surprised that I like period shows? I love Downton Abbey and Upstairs Downstairs, and movies like Emma, Pride & Prejudice, etc..

Movies and TV recharge me–I majored in Theatre, and have always loved plays, musicals, movies, etc.. At one time, I was torn between wanting to go to Broadway and direct, and my writing–but the writing has always, forever been my deepest passion. So now I just enjoy the art of others and write my books.

And one other thing: I never refer to what I watch as a ‘guilty pleasure’…to me, if I like it, I don’t feel guilty about it, be it The Amazing Race and Married At First Site, or a Shakespeare production. If I like it and it makes me happy, then it’s worth watching and nothing to feel guilty about!

What are some of your favorite movies and TV shows?

Mysteries of various sorts are my go to—from Hallmark series (Mystery 101, Hailey Dean, Aurora Teagarden) to Grimm. With Crakow Monsters, Trese, Disenchanted, & Britbox series thrown in.

Just finished Bridgerton and starting Outlander. Looking forward to The Crown’s next season. Watching the British version of Ghosts. Started the American version, but it didn’t catch my interest as much. My husband and I don’t live together yet, so we watch WWE at the same time to be doing something “together”. I love period pieces, historical or not.

I am just starting the sixth episode of the second season of Bridgerton. I am enjoying it but it diverts in places from the book and drops a number of scenes which would have been hilarious onscreen. The music is well done and I am enjoying the use of modern pieces on classical instruments.
As to furniture, I know quite well how that goes. I had bought a rather plain desk for my home library and we had brought it home. Due to it not laying flat, it got smashed to pieces and I was in tears for days because of it. Happily, a desk came up for sale that was big enough for my computer screen, assorted desk items and even a cat or two. Whenever I see your cats walking about on your desk and furniture, it makes me smile. I do miss the Puget Sound so much but due to rain down along the Australian east coast reminding me of home. I do wish for more pines in the area, there are gum trees here in the area but I miss the smell of pine.

I love the crime shows like CSI or Unsolved Mysteries or Forensic Files. I also enjoy unwinding with Great British Bake-Off or Sugar Rush on Netflix. It gives me some much needed relaxation and sometimes I find new ways to cook (in the baking/cooking shows).
