Roar 00000 00000 00011

Well, Michael shows his shtick. In case you didn’t get it, the last names of the characters relate to the sounds the animal makes. I have a few characters who don’t fit that mold, but… eh, whatever. It’s my comic. The story of the comic will start soon.

My main motivation for Roar is the Muppet Show, the show behind the show. However, I’ve been working/revising my story ideas for this comic, and it keeps coming down to a really bad reality show. I’ll figure it out as I go along.

I didn’t do any shading, but I increased the inking width. I think it looks better. I’m still working on learning to shade. I want to increase my coloring speed, and I studied up on how to do fast cell shading using Clip Studio Paint. I hope to improve a few other things. I want to get better on consistency for my drawing. I hope it works.

I will begin to schedule the comic to come out on Mondays and Fridays, twice a week, with four to six panels per comic.

Let me know what you think.

Introducing the comic

Comic Transcripts

Panel one, Michael Roar is looking around the room, surprised. There is a bunch of “Yap, Yap, Yap” going on around the room. Cindy Mewers faces off-screen talking to someone. Michael asks “What’s going on?” Next to Michael is Robert Ruffards, he says “What do you think? The rest of us wanted to come out now.”
Panel two, Michael faces Robert, looking worried with sweat marks around him. He says “But I’m not done yet!” Robert says “Hey, it’s not my fault we took so long getting started. Blame Sammy.”
Panel three, with his eyes shut, Michael yells “Roar!” Everyone zips off-screen.
Panel four, Michael faces the audience and says “Hi, I’m Michael Roar, welcome to Roar.” From off-screen are a bunch of thought bubbles with a question mark.
