Caffeine Corner

Welcome to my monthly feature I’m calling Caffeine Corner. Once a month I’ll be posting a little something and giving away a free copy of a book (could be an e-book too—depending on my mood) and a fun mug to one person who comments.

So, this month I’m going to talk about some of my favorite summer-fun movies.

Summer seems to be the perfect time for chick flicks. On my list of faves are Legally Blonde and Legally Blonde 2. Romy & Michelle’s High School Reunion is another one. Clueless and Mean Girls are fun, and Heathers which is actually a lot darker than a chick flick but still kind of in that category. Bridget Jones Diary and then the second one, also.

It’s also a good time of year for magical movies like The Secret of Roan Inish, and The Secret Garden. The Butcher’s Wife, and Practical Magical also fall into the summer category for me.

In your comments please specify whether you are in the US, that you are 18+, and tell me what are your favorite summer movies? I’ll pick one of you (not based on whether I like the movies you list, so don’t worry about that) and send you a backlist copy of one of my books (print this time) and a mug that you can fill with whatever drink you want while you curl up in the summer sun to read. Enter by midnight August 10th.

. I live in the U.S. Indiana to be exact. I am more of a book reader than a movie watcher. I have just finished reading all of the otherworld series in just a matter of weeks. I am a book a day reader normally. I do however like to watch Greece towards the end of summer and Grease 2 as well.

I live in the U.S. and I’m over and I love seeing new movies in theatres during the summer. I’m REALLY looking forward to seeing Suicide Squad. Some of my fav summer movies to watch are Shakespeare in Love, Becoming Jane, Adventureland, and anything with Audrey Hepburn in it. My list could go on and on, but these are the few that are near the top. =D

Summer is when all the cool new movies come out. I have a soft spot for remakes of fairy tales, but the comic book movies are best. I’ll probably see Suicide Squad.

My movie preferences aren’t usually based on a season. Holidays will bring out a desire for something specific but I like my favorites all year round. My all-time favorite is Practical Magic. I absolutely love the sisters and strive to be like the Aunts as I get older. Who can resist midnight margaritas? I also love Lilo & Stitch, Firefly, Labyrinth, to name just a few. Hmmm, now I feel the need for a movie marathon!

Well over 18 & in the USA! I don’t have any “Summer” movies, I can watch my faves anytime. SOME of them are Practical Magic, The Lord Of The Rings Trilogy, The Hobbit Trilogy, the ICE AGE movies (saw Collision Course in the theater), the Mummy movies, the Scorpion King (can you guess I love fantasy movies?), Brave, the Halloweentown movies. I could go on & on. But I won’t. *HUGS* for all!

Over 18, live in the US. I don’t consider any movie summer or any other seasonal movies. They are just that movies to me, but this summer I did go see Bad Moms, Finding Dory, Suicide Squad (which was the MOST anticipated movie for me and I LOVED it) As for a particular movie I watch in the summer? FX always has Grown Ups playing almost every weekend during the summer and The mummy (even though I can’t stand watching the movie anymore I blame my sister for that!)

I just finished watching the Indian Jones movies, they were playing on Saturday nights in a row. When in Ireland a few years ago I went to the bridge where The Quiet Man was filmed – watched this many years ago with my dad when I was about 16. But my favourite movie is Bladerunner. This summer seems to be the summer of Cinderella. I absolutely love Ever After. But I also stumbled on an old childhood favorite called “The Slipper and the Rose.” It’s TOTAL cheese, but I can’t seem to get enough of it. Also on rotation is Becoming Jane.
