My favorite parts about fall are the autumn leaves, which change with the cooler air; the taste of spiced hot apple cider and pumpkin bread; the feel of the cool air on my skin; and the soft sounds of the cool wind blowing the leaves in the trees.

I like so many things about Autumn, the cooler temps, the sights, the smells, but my favorite thing is my favorite Sabbat, Samhain. My little Witchlet, aka my granddaughter Myranda, is really hoping that I win, because she wants the black cat! I told her that I’d think about it, but we both know she will, hee hee.

Autumn is a time for renew. I love how the nature sheds the old to prepare for the new. I was born September 23 and have also felt comfortable and drawing to autumn. Walking into the wood on a beautiful autumn midday and sitting quietly as rabbits gather food, watching birds play as the cool breeze blows, etc…. That is what autumn is like for me, yeah the bonfires and spending time with loved ones is always great but being by myself with mother earth in her prime is my absolute favorite.

Crisp cool morning, fall colors and pumpkins. I have this love affair with pumpkins that goes back to when I was 11 years old. I had been injured and had spent a good deal of time both recovering and learning to walk again. The next year my parents moved us out to the country. Dad had me out helping in a garden while I was still using a cane to walk. He had rigged up a PVC pipe with funnel attached so I could drop seeds into the rows. He let me plant a row of pumpkins, I was to water and tend to that row until harvest. Dad placed a marker at the end of the row with my name on it. I went out everyday to tend to my row doing the weeding and watering. Dad was not well educated as he only had a third grade education, but he was a very smart man and he gave me a project, my row of pumpkins. Through out the growing season I learned to work around my limitation and learned to move without the aide of the cane or braces. Harvest came and I had beautiful pumpkins some of which I gave away and I put the cane away not needing it anymore.

It’s really difficult to say what it is about Autumn that I like best, given that I’m a tropical Florida girl. Autumn doesn’t properly exist here in the Sunshine State. I suppose my favourite thing about Autumn here is that we eventually get a cool-down from our Summer heat & I can finally turn off the aircon & allow in fresh air. Then, of course, comes all the cute Halloween merch in the shops. It’ll be fun to celebrate my 10-month old tortie kitten’s first Halloween! 🙂

    I’m well over 18 (35 in December) & a legal U.S. resident.

My favorite part about fall is the changing of the leaves. If we get the time, we like to take a drive through some of the mountains and see all the beautiful colors. I also like the crisp weather and the chance to sit out on our deck and have a fire in our chimea with the dogs laying around us. It’s a nice family time to relax. I also enjoy cuddling up in a hoodie and taking walks with the dogs. Fall is definitely my favorite season of them all.

I love everything about autumn. When I lived in Michigan I got to take rides on the color tour train to see the leaves changing into the beautiful colors of autumn. I love the smells, especially hay, and the decorations. I love being able to go out on a crisp day and choose a pumpkin for carving and go to a cider mill for some hot apple cider. I can’t wait until I can go back during autumn to experience it all again.

My favorite part about Autumn isn’t the changing of the leaves, though that is nice, because not every area has that change or gets to see it other than in photos or on tv. My favorite part of Autumn is the coming together of family, as the holidays get closer. It’s a time of deep thought and preparation for the ‘death’ of winter. And the colors, I absolutely love the earthy colors of autumn!

I am 43 (born in US thank Goddess : ) and live in a place I call Rivendale in Colorado, high upon the Mountains. I have two favorite parts of Autumn, rituals I do with great joy each year. Part One: One of My Favorite parts of Autumn is what I consider a New year with New Beginnings. As the weather changes, this is a wonderful way to observe many of the rites of Mabon and getting ready for Winter’s return. For me, as My Birthday is in September and I always look at it as a time to begin anew. The upcoming festivities of the Autumn Equinox and All Hallows Eve is the most Magickal and Witchy time of year. The Aspens turn gold and shimmer in the crisp Autumn air, singing the Song of the Goddess as the winds grow stronger, making the leaves dance to a Faerie’s softly whispered tune. I take long walks under canopies arching high of Golden glittering Aspens. (Aspen trees, when together in same area, all share the same root system, sometimes for miles). So walking with their Grounding energy beneath me and Golden Boughs shimmering above, lets my imagination take me away while helping my Magick ground. I feel so very blessed to live here, my Irish Wolfhound out on a walk to our Faerie Circle where we do rituals and hang healing bundles, and bundles for Manifesting, etc in the Grove nestled across the street. Part Two (My Favorite Rituals of Fall): Then coming home to a hot cup of tea, and a great book! This year I’m anxiously awaiting your book, “Shadow Silence” on the 27th as my Autumn Equinox treat. I always do “Fall Cleaning” rather than Spring, so I’m ready to hunker down in the sweet Bliss of My Goddess room and sanctuary, with my Hound at my feet, sitting at my Great Great Grandmere’s antique desk, looking out into the riot of colors outside my window, with a view of the Aspen’s glittering gold. And Most importantly, and what brings me more delight than anything in the world is sitting down with my Fall Book, which I read every year, escaping this daily mortal coil, where I can journey to Magickal places, learn how to be a stronger woman through the adventures of the heroines in your books! The greatest magic in the world is entering another world through the beauty of the written word, you can feel it, deep in the earth, “The Goddess is Alive, and Magick is Afoot!” And as we begin the time of year where we go inwards, stay in our cozy homes more & have time for Magick and Rituals, I begin my Favorite ritual of this season (and I suggest to your other readers to do the same, as its the perfect book to come back to every year during this season and if you have another favorite that inspires you to begin the beauty of Fall, that works too!! I place this book on my Altar and return to ‘Night Myst” like an old friend, “O wild West Wind, though breath of Autumn’s being, Thou, from whose unseen presence the leaves dead Are driven, like ghosts from an enchanter fleeing…Percy Bysshe Shelley (From Yasmine Galenorn’s, “Night Myst”). The characters and story of this enchanting tale are the biggest and brightest part of my Fall rituals…they make the season come alive for me! With much love and thanks for the gift of entering the realm of magic, via the portal of your stories. Shine Brightly and May you and all your beautiful readers have an Enchanting Autumn, Mabon and All Hallow’s Eve. C-Faerie

It’s when I was born. The crisp brisk breeze that carries the savory and sweet. Pumpkins and spice, apples and dry vibrant leaves and the anticipation of halloween all linger wherever you go. Walks in the woods or jumping in leaves signify that Autumn is here. Growing up we had local copper vats of apple butter cooking mixed with hayrides and giggles. Oh beautiful, blessed Autumn…what is not to love about this time of year? Warm summer like days that melt into cool frosty nights, the smell of wood smoke in the air, a small bit of heaven on earth. I am so lucky to live in an area that on those dark, frosty night I can look up into the night sky and view a brilliant display of the Milky Way and thousands of stars. Tracking the great hunter, Orion, across the dark sky as he does eternal battle with Taurus the Bull makes my mind wander. I think of the Gods and Goddesses looking down on us, watching us, enjoying the show that we put on. Warm, spicy apple cider, a piece of pumpkin bread is a pleasant way to end the day. As the nights grow longer into the winter season, I feel the pause that is coming. Time to “hibernate” and sit and knit while waiting for the sun to return to light and warm up the ground for the growing season to begin again. I love Autumn. It is a small gift to us, to help us remember that after the cold dark winter the sun will return in a blaze of glory, yellow, orange and red just like the beautiful leaves of Autumn.

Not only do you have the sensory aspects – changing colors, changing textures and sounds, new plants or animals hanging around – you also have things happening all around you that you might not think about. I don’t have ONE particular favorite aspect of Autumn. I love the crisp morning air, the beautiful gold and red colors of the leaves (except when they fall in my yard and I have to take them up…). It always feels as if the universe is breathing a sigh of relief and is able to let go, and move on. Fall apples and pumpkins always provide luscious cinnamon laden aromatherapy as well

My favorite part of autumn is definitely the cooler weather because I just love that nice crispy air that autumn brings. Not to mention the beautiful color leaves. I also just love to curl up in my cozy bed with a good book in hand and a nice hot tea, especially during the cold rainy days. Autumn is just a breath of fresh air to me, more so with all those high temperatures that I went through in all these months.

My favorite part of autumn is what it signifies to me – death and rebirth. It signifies the death or the end of one season and the rebirth of a new one. It signifies a change, not only in the weather and the colors but internally as well. Most of us transition from the warmth and carefree time of summer to the crispness of fall, the shorter days and longer nights, but we also need to acclimate ourselves and start new.
I grew up in New England and moved to Florida 4 yrs ago. I never realized what Inwas missing or what it meant until it was no longer there. And since moving back last year I have developed a whole new appreciation for the season and what it means. And, of course, my favorite holiday: Halloween!

I enjoy making costumes for myself & my 4 children. Raking leaves & having them jump in them & have leaf fights (just like snowball, but with leaves). Decorating for Halloween. Going trick or treating while we’re all dressed up (many can’t believe a parent is dressed up, but I love doing so!) Celebrating my teen’s birthday on Thanksgiving with family (she was literally born on Thanksgiving 17 yrs ago, so she’s my turkey). Fall Powwows.

What I love about fall is two things really. I love the change of color in the trees. Growing up in southern Calif I never saw in life the fall colors. At 15 we moved to Reno and I got to witness the change in the trees. It wasn’t until I was 21 as a newlywed that my hubby and I spent a fall and early winter in Newport Rhode Island and I got to see how absolutely gorgeous the fall colors are in the northeast US. Now living back in the Reno area, I love the colors of the different trees around me. As an older person I really love the change of temperature, not too cold and not hot.

Autumn activities are so valuable to me because it’s the time of Pagan Picnics where we come together not only to fellowship, and meet again, but gather food for our local free food pantry and Food Banks. The privilege of gathering food for our community, and getting together to plan the scavenger hunts for food items for Halloween is such fun. I love planning and gathering the prizes for the scavenger who brings in the most items, the one who brings the most multiple items, and so on is such fun. Gathering prizes from the vendors at the picnic for prizes, like a neclace, some magic soaps, some enchanted candles is the most fun of my year. Delivering the food collected is truly a blessing to us all. I love the whole process!!!

My favorite part of Autumn is watching my youngest get excited for Halloween, she always knows when its coming because the leaves change color and the weather gets cooler. She notices the costumes and candy being put out in the stores ( always way too early ) and the costumes. I enjoy her excitement, the way she changes her mind daily on what she wants to be.. One day a zombie, the next a princess.. Today she wants to be a black cat LOL.. Just asked her :p She is my miracle baby, I had cancer when I was pregnant with her, stage 2. They thought it would be better for me not to have her so I could start treatments, but I refused.. She had to come a month early because I hit stage 4.. I went through a year of complete hell, but having her inside my tummy growing and squirming about helped pull me through it.. I love watching her excitement over every little thing, but fall is her favorite, so it is mine as well 🙂 I thought I would explain why Autumn is my favorite, because it is hers. 🙂 Happy Halloween and Fall Equinox to you all

I love the energy this time of year This week I woke up to the sound of crows outside my window instead of the cheerful tweeting of songbirds and it gave me such a thrill because I know soon the days will be cooler and the nights will be longer. The kitchen will be filled with the scent of pumpkin pie, apple pie, pecan pie…PIES EVERYWHERE! I will be able to enjoy a nice hot cup of coffee again (Texas summer is no place for hot drinks.) Don’t even get me started on the boots and coats. My dogs start getting a little rounder because they like to engage the squirrels in a game of “who can gather the most acorns.” They seriously eat them by the dozens daily. Most of all, I love how families gather to celebrate and we get to spread a little warmth and cheer. This will also be my sons first holiday season so it will be extra special this year.

My favorite part of Autumn is the weather. The air starts getting cooler, and the temperatures start dropping. I love Autumn because you can do so much more during the day than you can in the Summer! With the cooler temps I can start wearing my favorite thicker sweaters on a regular basis, and enjoy wearing my jeans and boots with them.

There are so many reasons why I love fall. The colors, smells, crisp cool air. I love the chilly mornings sitting in my back yard with my husband and kitty soaking in the changing birdsong and the emerging colors. I love the road trips to see the changing colors and storing to pick up apples for baking. Oh…the baking. Apple pies, pumpkin fudge, pot roasts…the smell of roasting green Chile and fall leaves. I love my fall sweaters and wearing fall colors. But the biggest reason I love fall…Balloon Fiesta and Halloween spent with the love of my life.

My favorite part of autumn is apple cider warmed with orange slices and cinnamon sticks and sitting around a fire surrounded by friends and family. The cool air is refreshing. This year autumn is special because we found out that we are pregnant. Our child’s first movements will be felt this autumn and we will have our first sonogram on Oct 6. While our families already know we will get to tell friends and church families. I am extra excited this year because of our growing family.

I am currently living in Hawaii so I miss the different seasons. Summer is great but I always enjoyed being able to put on a light sweater and have a tasty chi or apple cider. Autumn always brought that crisp to the air that had a revitalizing quality as the leaves began to change in my hometown. Less than 5 months before I move again and get to finally unpack my jeans and sweaters.

Let’s see, there is so much to love about autumn…. I love the smell, mostly of fireplaces or fire pits that are being used. I love to see all the trees change their colors and the slight nip in the air. I love going pumpkin picking and roasting the seeds for my kiddos. Food of the fall is my favorite, and not everything needs to be pumpkin spice.. but it is good. Apple pie is a must! I love decorating and celebrating the fall holidays. But if I had to choose one thing, it would be the “feel” of autumn. It’s my favorite season!

Oh and pumpkin pie! I love pumpkin pie!

My favorite part of Autumn is not only the changing of the leaves and the temperatures, it is the energy shift and the smell that you can only find in the decay of the Season, when all things know that they must grow dormant to conserve energy and survive. I love to watch the animals prepare and spend more time in Nature hiking and interacting with my surroundings. I also take my cue from the critters and clean out all of the old and unnecessary and donate it. Each Mabon, our group does a canned and non-perishable food drive and bless it, then we take the things we gathered to the food banks and homeless shelters. We also start our Winter survival packs to keep in the cars and give out. I love this time of year for the hush that comes over Nature and myself. It is a great time for me to turn inward and ride out the descent of the season and prepare for a rebirth after the Winter has passed.
I am from Salisbury, NC and 28. Brightest Blessings this Mabon!

Autumn is a wonderful time of year and there are many reasons that makes it fabulous but here are just a few that make me love it. It’s when you can walk in the woods and everyday notice more and more the colors changing becoming more vibrant making you realize just how beautiful nature is all on its own. When you take that first deep breathe of the autumn air and realize you finally get to break out the leg warmers :). Alas for me though the best and greatest part of Autumn is when you finally rake all the leaves together into one huge pile in the middle of yard to watch your grandkids running and screaming their war cries and jumping in head first trying to see who can make the biggest explosion of leaves in the air.
