So, this week has been all about getting ready for my Big December Bash (see this coming Monday’s post). I’ve written SO MANY POSTS for the blog and the group I feel about ready to drop. But today we made turkey soup for lunch, and it made everything feel good. I’ll be posting pictures of the holiday decorations over the next couple weeks, and I hope you enjoy them. We’ll be doing a Zoomsgiving this year with our friends, so not nearly so much work has to go into actually making a huge dinner. I miss it–I love hostessing Thanksgiving–but we want everybody, including us, to be safe and distancing is the only way to make sure that happens.
Have you changed your Thanksgiving plans? What are you doing this year?
I will be celebrating on my own this year, and I am planning my first vegan Thanksgiving. It will be an adventure!
I hope it works well for you!
It’s the same as most years at my place. I still live at home. My mom’s a nurse and working that night. So it is my dad and I having my homemade lower carb chili recipe and our Sunday night dinner show or movie. It’s special because it’s a Thursday and I only make chili’s few times a year. We’ll instead be doing a pot roast on Friday for all of us instead. That’s even rarer, plus I can’t have poultry.
Pot roast is yummy!
Our Thanksgiving plans are going to be the same: just me & Mom. We stopped doing the big Thanksgiving years ago, because I used to work in retail; first in a grocery store so I worked on Thanksgiving; then in other stores where I had to work Black Friday. After my Dad passed, Mom & I just stayed home for Thanksgiving (my sister & her family celebrate at their home). So this year will be no different.
Have a pleasant, calm and happy Thanksgiving with your mother. 🙂 I’m glad you don’t have to work in the store this year!
While I have the day to myself, I will be sewing. I have some clothes from a subscription box that don’t fit me. I plan to do some adjusting of those pieces so I can wear them.
Enjoy! I can’t sew a straight line, but am always impressed by people who can make clothes!
I’ll be working Thanksgiving, as usual, but no plans. I’ll probably go out to eat after work instead of doing a lot of cooking for just me.
Hey, going out has advantages. Just be safe!
