It’s Caturday and time for cute fluffy-wuzziness.

Today we have Kirsi who really really (one more) really needs to get her claws clipped.

And I don’t wanna do it!

To clip feline claws-you need at least 2 people, one cat, one nail clipper, heavy towel or blanket, arm and face protection and ambulance on speed dial! Oh, forgot ear plugs, especially if you understand cat-it will not be nice! Human 1 wrap cat securely in blanket, hold tightly!!! Human 2 reach under blanket and retrieve one paw! Human 1, tighten grip, fun is about to begin! Human 2, take clippers in hand, retrieve paw again and hold tightly, clip one claw at a time being careful not to cut to close- If this is successful, let go of paw one and retrieve paw 2, repeat process! Don’t forget that cat has 4 feet, therefore 4 sets of claws! When all claws are clipped, you may release cat, remove ear plugs, apply necessary first aid to human 1 and possibly human 2. Relax, consider it a job well done and have a glass or cup of something that destresses you-Don’t expect to see the cat until chow time-They have a tendency to hold a grudge!!!!! Hope this helps, works for me-

I let the vets check mine out and then trim their claws. I just noticed yesterday that my eldest, Kit (age 18), has one claw growing into her pad. They never complain either. So, of course, it was friday and the vet is closed all weekend…so Monday Morning by 9am I am dropping her off to be checked out and claws trimmed! She will NOT be pleased. Two of my boys also go to vet for checkup, shots, and claws trimmed, next week or soon thereafter.

Yikes! I wouldn’t want to clip them either! Maybe make her a kitty wrap?
