So on BCF today, I’m thinking that we’re headed toward spring, and I’m actually looking forward to the flowers of spring most of all (along with the leaves blossoming out). My favorite spring flowers have to be hyacinths.
I love so many flowers, but hyacinths are the first real sign of spring to me, and I love the many varieties and colors. Here, we get a lot of spring rains, and winds, as well. And though the ducks are here year-round, the geese do return in spring.
So, tell me, what are your favorite signs of spring? (I know in the southern hemisphere you are headed toward autumn, but you can still tell me what you love about spring!).
Brain Candy Friday
The daffodils have fully bloomed here. There is a field of them near my house where we take spring pictures. My plants and the weeping willow have all budded out. My favorites are hydrangeas though I guess that would be a late spring/summer flower.
I really love camellias too. They bloom during the winter though.
Mine is the cherry blossoms and lilacs blooming along with warmer weather. (We just got through a blizzard here the last three days so any hint of warm weather is a blessing lol)
This winter has been so screwy, that the flowers & robins have shown up early. We have tulips, hyacinths, & irises all coming up now. Don’t know if they’ll bloom or not, but we’ll see. I love the hyacinths, too. They smell so good. We’ve had a few crocus bloom, too.
I think our hyacinths here are just starting to peek out of the ground.
Agree completely on hyacinths. Mine are peeking up, silly things, since our weather went back to freezing. They survived last year so hope they do again. Sunday supposed to be in the 50’s, so… fingers crossed it will be true spring.
The chance to walk barefoot outside, I love feeling the earth beneath my feet
Always hunt with the kids for the first Robin sighting!
Spring ….. growing up I always lived in the south, and there was never a true ‘spring’. Now I have been fortunate to have experienced all the seasons, and I do love them all. I love the spring flowers, and usually the first ones that I see are buttercups. But I think one of my favorite signs are the robins. I love seeing the robins hopping around and I know spring is imminent.
