fruitcake

Okay, here’s a divisive subject! I grew up with a mother who LOVED fruitcake. I always hated it. So…what side do you fall on? Love it? Hate it? Never had it? Used it as a brick? Tell me!

I love it, but it depends on the fruitcake. I dont bake them as none of my kids will eat it

I like some fruitcakes. My favorite is called icebox fruitcake and was made by my mom for many, many years. I have made it in the past- but it is super rich, so have not made it in awhile.

Love it, but have to find the right one, there are some pretty bad ones out there!

It depends on the fruitcake. My grandmother used to make fruitcake cookies that were pretty good. I remember some bricks in my childhood, but I have no idea where they came from. Currently, I am a fan, seriously, of Collins Street Bakery’s fruit cake. I haven’t made one in decades.
