It’s been a rough year–Caly’s and Morgana’s deaths hit me far harder than I realized and I’ve struggled though this year of writing and trying to keep up. Even with the love of Apple, Brighid, and the baby girls (who are now one and cute as buttons–and BIG), and Sam’s support, my emotions have been on edge.
But I’m finally making some peace and I’m ready to go with my Patreon page again. For one thing, I hadn’t realized my Tier 4 & 5 patrons were so invested in the DARK HUNTRESS story they’re getting to read. (DARK HUNTRESS is an unpublished novel that I wrote years ago, that kind of was the origins of Otherworld). I didn’t realize anybody would really care about it, but they were, which makes me feel good, and so yes, it will be continuing.
But, if you’re asking “What IS Patreon?”, here’s a little background. Throughout history, artists, writers, and musicians had “patrons”–individuals who sponsored their work–a wealthy individual who could give them the freedom to focus on their art and create. That model has come back over the past few years of the internet in a way where super-fans can pay for extra content that also helps support their fave content creators.
According to Wikipedia, Patreon is a membership platform that provides business tools for content creators to run a subscription service. It helps creators and artists earn a monthly income by providing rewards and perks to their subscribers.
So, I’ve reopened my Patreon page for those who might be interested in joining. And while I don’t expect all my readers to join–for those who do want to, you have my gratitude. It can help keep me writing. My tiers are (the tiers are monthly charges):

Benefit: You’ll have access to select posts here on Patreon that the general public won’t be able to read, including my author diary.

Benefit: You will receive access to my Patreon-only video once a month in which I both answer questions and just talk about random stuff.
