Caffeine Corner

Welcome to my monthly feature I’m calling Caffeine Corner. Once a month I’ll be posting a little something and giving away a free copy of a book (could be an e-book too—depending on my mood) and a fun mug to one person who comments and is subscribed to my blog.

For October’s chat, let me ask you this burning question—Candy Corn—yes or no? I vote yes. Many times over yes. Candy corn is weird and an odd texture and not really a corn-based taste but I LOVE IT.

In your comments please specify whether you are in the US, that you are 18+ and make certain you subscribe to my blog. Now, let the arguments begin—why do you love/hate candy corn? I’ll pick one of you to send a backlist copy of one of my books (print this time) and a mug that you can fill with whatever drink you want while you curl up in the summer sun to read.  Enter by midnight October 12th.

    I’m over 18 and a us resident.
I LOVE the candy! It always brings me back to my childhood. I’m 26 years old and yet every time I eat them I have to take two of them and put them under my upper lip as if they are my fangs! Simply the taste of a simpler time for me.

I’m in the US. I love Fall & anything that has to do the season changing to Fall & Halloween. All the best things happen then. I think candy corn is an acquired taste & acknowledge the waxy news but I personally love it. I do think if it was available year around I’d probably grow tired of them. I think the love is based on a combination of how it’s chew factor and taste. The chew is slightly crumbly and soft, then you taste the sweetness & sugaryness dissolves away & unlike some Chewy candies it doesn’t stay in your teeth. The taste is somewhat reminiscent of those white Beaches jelly noughat candies or Big Red soda.

I’m over 18 , live in the USA.
I’m not a fan of candy corn. I like the look of it, but it’s too sugary tasting, yet bland at the same time.
It does make good vampire teeth for funny pictures. 🙂 It is a good decoration, too.
However, based upon food importance , I say nay.

YES.YES.YES! It’s delicious and when you pour the bag into a clear jar it doubles as a cute autumn decoration too!

Not in the US. I am over 18. I am not sure that candy corn is the same thing we call sweet Popcorn here in Germany. It is the same so I like it, but I don´t eat it often.

I am over 18, I live in the US and subscribe to your blog. I love candy corn. I think it has a sweet taste. I always buy a few bags early in the season before they run and had them. That way I can candy corn for a few months. I didn’t like chocolate candy corn as much though, which is weird considering I love chocolate. I do love the pumpkins and other fall shaped candy that are similar to candy corn in taste.

I live in the U.S. and am over 18. I love, love, love candy corn. It’s my very favorite candy. To me, the sweeter the candy is, the better it is, and candy corn is super sweet and sugary. The candy corn pumpkins are like a double shot treat, two candy corns in one. I like the kind that is made with honey, but secretly (or not so secretly now) I prefer the artificially flavored ones. Candy corn is a reminder of the time when I could eat with impunity and not worry about my teeth, my weight or my blood sugar. It’s funny you should ask about this because I just sneaked a bag yesterday!

I’m over 18 and in the US. I like candy corn every once in a while. It helps to take the edge off of wanting something sweet. I also like how it’s shaped. Brachs makes candy corm that is shaped like pumpkins, which to me signifies that fall is here. I love that its a seasonal thing, like when you see candy corn you know that the time for ghosts and ghouls and the season of the witch is here!

I I’m in the U.S. and over 18. I love candy corn. I love the taste, the texture, the shape and how it comes in pieces small enough to put more than one in your mouth but sweet enough to not put too many. Do you know any other candy shaped like that? Plus, candy corn reminds me of fall, spooky holidays and the last of the falling leaves.

I’m in the US and would prefer NOT to give my age, though it is far more than 18! I love candy corn – all of the several types now available, but the original best. There’s a tin of it sitting on the dinner table right now, but it won’t be there long.

I dislike candy corn. It’s just not something that has ever been tasty to me, even with all the different flavors they come out with.

I’m over 18 and am in the US. I’ve never liked candy corn much. I can’t say I truly dislike it, but there isn’t a great deal of flavor. There are so many other types of candy that I enjoy more, so I usually just eat one of those.

    US and over 18.

As much as I try, I just can’t make myself like it. To me it has a waxy flavor that candy just should not have.
