Turkey, asking how was your thanksgiving?

So, how was your Thanksgiving? We had a wonderful time with friends and family of choice, and out came the good china and the dinner was great, and the company, wonderful. Tell me, what did you do?

Now, as we head toward December, I’m preparing to release A SHADOW OF CROWS–are you ready???

I wish I could say my Thanksgiving was awesome. That night was meant to be the night my mom worked, she’s a nurse in Seattle. So, my dad and I were doing my homemade chili. There was a slight problem with this, instead of my mom going to work, I ended up taking her to the ER. Turned out what was wrong was I guess an intense level of dehydration, at least as far as the ER determined. Also giving her the fluids there helped. But yeah, my Thanksgiving was spending four hours in the ER, but I’m just glad my mom’s okay and back on her feet. So, I’m thankful for that.

Every time my mother gets a little forgetful, I nag her about drinking more. She’s a night-shift nurse, too. Dehydration can cause a lot of problems for our aging parents, particularly nurses. They don’t take breaks, only fueling themselves on caffeine, and they hate getting medical check-ups after all they’ve seen at work.
We’ll keep you and your family in our prayers.

Unfortunately, sometimes problems don’t take a hiatus for the holiday. I’m glad she’s doing okay and that it seems dehydration was the problem and not something worse.

My Thanksgiving was great! My family is small, so we to a buffet in Downtown Portland at a hotel called The Sentinel. The ballroom they have the buffet in is so beautiful, and the food was good! After dinner we took a mini road trip to the Vista House at Crown Point in the Columbia Ticer Gorge. We would have gone to Multnomah Falls as well, but the Old Hwy 30 was still closed.
