We’re into summer, and the weather here has turned to sun and warmer days. I’m not fond of heat, but it’s pretty to see and it makes me want to go out and sit by the lake or find a cool niche in the forest where I can soak in that soft cedar scent. I’m happy to see the flowers blooming and everything feels brilliant and new again.
So, what are your favorite summer activities? And for those activities impacted by the pandemic, what are you finding to put in their place?

Brain Candy Friday
I used to love camping but haven’t had the chance to go for years. With all that is going on, I have been trying to get back into reading but find that I can’t stay focused. I end up trying to just work on small home improvement projects/crafts.
I’m not fond of the heat either. I am grateful for the air conditioning!
I love to go out in early morning and early evening. Then I care for the plants–lavender, geraniums, petunias, a few succulents.
We have a great new area with a large umbrella. In the heat of the day–from noon to 6:30–even the shade isn’t enough to keep me comfortable. So I stay in, read, watch a bit of TV.
Favorite summer activity? Generally speaking, taking a day trip to Leavenworth… Otherwise, the same things I always do, which are indoor reading and playing Skyrim.
My favorite activities is, well honestly, reading. I’m lucky enough to live near the lake so soak up some sun read a good book and cool off in the water! Oh, and hang out with my girl Athena.
