So, every autumn I have my favorite movies, and every holiday season I have my fave movies. I haul them out around mid-November and begin watching them. There aren’t as many as I pull out for autumn, but they’re old favorites and I find them comforting like a good friend. Some are soothing, others funny, others poignant. Here’s my list of my faves! Which holiday movies do you love?
Here’s my list:
It’s a Wonderful Life

Huge fan of everything Grinch! Tho the newest isn’t my favorite it’s still good. Always watching Die Hard but it’s extra special at Christmas. Lethal Weapon also happens to be a fave and yes I will argue that it, like Die Hard is a Christmas movie. Still like The Santa Clause and I really like the idea going around Facebook where Charlie takes over as a grown up to be Santa using the original actors!!! Scooby Doo Winter Wonderland had to make my list as I love Scooby as much as I love the Grinch. The Nightmare Before Christmas. I can’t believe I almost forgot Disney’s Prep & Landing along with Phineas and Ferb A Very Perry Christmas. Yes, I like a lot of kids shows
My faves in no particular order:

We both like:
The Ref
Charlie Brown Christmas
Lord of the Rings
Hobbit
Star Wars
My classic favorites are White Christmas, Holiday Inn, It’s a Wonderful Life, Miracle on 34th Street, Rudolph the Red Noise Reindeer and Frosty the Snowman.
With a bit more humor I like Four Christmases, Scrooged (Bill Murray), Home Alone and How the Grinch Stole Christmas (Jim Carrey).
We just watched the new release Fatman with Mel Gibson and Walton Googgins and both loved it.
Many of your list are also on mine.
I love It’s A Wonderful Life so much that back in the ancient days, when we were stationed in Germany and I didn’t know if it would be aired on the military network, I paid $42.00 (to date the most I have EVER paid for a video!) to buy a VHS copy to watch on our brand new VCR!
We saw The Man Who Invented Christmas when it was released in the movie theater and it has become a new favorite.
Almost all of the animated shows from our growing up years are faves also- Frosty, Rudolph, Charlie Brown, How the Grinch Stole Christmas, The Year Without A Santa Claus etc.
I also like the Die Hard movies, Gremlins (which I figure is also pretty much a Christmas movie since it happens at Christmas!) and even Home Alone and Christmas Vacation. 🙂
Guess what it boils down to is I like tons of TV and movies! 🙂
It may not be for everyone but my hubby and I love to watch Die Hard as our favorite Christmas movie. Yippy ki aye!
