Well, I’ve got some updates for you—and hope to have more soon.
First: Fury’s Magic will be out before Thanksgiving, so keep watch for our announcement when it comes out! And if you haven’t read Fury Rising before, you still have time!
Second: I have some news that will be a little disappointing—but I promise, only a little.
I had slated Moon Shimmers—Otherworld #19—for late January, but it’s going to take just a couple months longer than that. I promise you though, it will be out by April or May at the latest.
Why the delay?
Because of the popularity of Taming the Vampire—and the excitement about Blood Music—the prequel story to Bewitching Bedlam—I’ve decided to switch the release dates for Bewitching Bedlam and Moon Shimmers. So you WILL have a January book—it will just be switched around. I’m planning on releasing two Bewitching Bedlam Series books next year and boy am I looking forward to writing them—they’re going to be fun, hot and steamy, and magical.
Third: Yes, there will be a third—and fourth—Whisper Hollow book (and maybe more, but I can’t say how many for sure). The third–Crow Song–will be coming out later in 2017. Can’t give you a firm date yet, but I have it planned for late summer. The fourth—Morrígan’s Blade—in 2018.
Fourth: Yes, there will be more Fury Unbound books. At least one next year, if not two. I have about five-six planned.
Fifth: People have asked about Fly by Night. Here’s one of the hard pieces of news I have to tell you. I’ve had to put that series on indefinite hold.
With Berkley and me not being able to find any middle ground (they didn’t want my paranormal, I didn’t want to write non-paranormal) I’ve chosen to go indie, as you all know by now.
The fallout of this is: in the indie world, it’s very important to have series that are purely indie from start to finish to bring in new readers. This has been a blessing for me—it’s giving me the opportunity to explore other ideas. Hence the Fury Unbound Series and the new Bewitching Bedlam Series. Honestly, I’m thrilled because I needed to branch out and write new things.
However, it means I can’t continue all the series I was writing with Berkley due to time constraints. I already promised to continue Otherworld and finish up the series. And Whisper Hollow haunts me. Both of those sell far better than Fly by Night. So those are the two I’ve chosen.
This means that the Fly by Night Series is going to have to sit on the shelf for awhile. Perhaps (this is not a promise but a possibility), after I finish the Otherworld Series, I’ll be able to continue it. I’m truly sorry—I know a number of you love Shimmer and Alex, and so do I, but I have to write the series that sell the best. Or, maybe…if I find sales of Otherworld pick up enough now that I’m in indie, I may figure out a way to write a few more—again, NOT a promise, just a possibility.
So there are the updates at this time.
I am really excited about the new series you have either coming or out now (I just got the Fury book 1 the other day) and that you are continuing the Whisper Hollow and Otherworld series., I am just now starting your Fly by Night series. I really want to see Otherworld and Whisper Hollow’s stories as those just grabbed me from book one. Looking forward to seeing what you have in store for those beloved series as well as the new ones. If Shimmer’s stories need to stop for the time being, that’s fine. I hope you can come back to them in the future when time is a bit more open for you. I am sure Alex and Shimmer won’t let you rest for long. 🙂
Thanks for the update! I enjoyed “Blood Music” and read it a couple of times back to back to make sure I didn’t miss any details. I can’t wait to see what happens in Bewitching Bedlam, so I’m excited that it’s release has been bumped up in your schedule. (And this gives me extra time to re-read & catch up on the Otherworld series before Moon Shimmers is released, since I’m a few books behind.)
I’m in love with Kerris and your Whisper Hollow series; it’s such a haunting world and I’m looking forward to more! I’m also really fascinated by Fury and I want to see more of her world. Even though all of this means that Shimmer’s story is on hold (because that’s a TON of great series to try to balance your time on), I’m hoping that you get the time to come back to it. Plus I doubt that Shimmer will let you forget about her or put her on hold for very long.
I’m really excited for you! I can’t wait to see what happens to Kerris next. I think it’s going to work out for the better. You will be able to write more creatively and as much as you want. You’re awesome and just can’t wait to see what’s next! How was this last weekend’s panels and whatnot at the expo? (I really wanted to go but last minute, had to drive to Iowa&wisconsin for funerals instead) are they going to be online anywhere by any chance?
Sorry one last question, who won the last couple contests?
I understand your choice. I will greatly miss Shimmer and the rest though. I will cling to the hope that one day you’ll be able to pick it up again. Thanks for all the wonderful worlds you create!
I understand your choice. Hope you know we love Alex and Shimmer 😉
