I use protein shakes to supplement my diet, given the limitations I have on what I can eat. And I also find it a good way to actually get some of the supplements that I have to take down my throat. (I don’t do pills well, and most of my supplements can be taken as powder form). Here’s the basic recipe, and you can add whatever supplements you need/take if you like. Just make certain they aren’t timed-release. I can’t have a lot of fruits, including bananas, but this is one smoothie I both like and feel good about drinking.
RASPBERRY PROTEIN SHAKE
1 heaping tablespoon Nutribiotic Vanilla Rice Protein Powder
1 cup frozen unsweetened raspberries or peaches
1 tbsp sugar-free coffee syrup in whatever flavor you like (I like peach, raspberry, huckleberry, or other fruit flavors to use in this recipe)
1.5 cups whatever milk you use–I use So Delicious Coconut milk
Whatever supplements you want to add.
Use a blender or a Nutribullet (I LOVE my Nutribullet–I’m on the third one because I wore two of them out over the years), and blend the above to a smooth smoothie-drink mixture. Makes one serving.
That sounds really delicious, thank you!
I so need me a blender. I’m going to do this with my teenagers!
This sounds great! How do you get to a smooth consistency? My fruit shakes/smoothies are always a little chunky. Is there a trick or do I just need a better blender?
The Nutribullet is a miracle blender. LOL, I swear by that little machine.
Yeah, the Nutri-Bullet is wonderful! This sounds like a good mix. I’ll give it a try.
Sounds good!
